Since 1991 Bentos and Banquets by Bernard has been feeding the island of Maui with its mix of island flavors encompassing every culture of Hawai'i in its Cuisine. The restaurant was founded by Bernard and Katherine Paet and was a lifelong dream of Bernard. As a result of his love for cooking and passion for people the mom and pop restaurant was an instant success and continues to be the locals favorite caterer for all occasions.

MEET THE TEAM
Bernard was born in Pu'unene Maui home of one of the first and the last sugar plantations in Hawai'i. In the plantation days workers and families of different cultures would share their food which truly created Hawaii's melting pot cuisine. This experience with Bernard's love for cooking and food helped him to learn the many flavors and techniques. Put that together with his charismatic personality and you will quickly see how Bernard is the life of the party with both his food and his smile!
Born and raised in Hawai'i, Chef Matthew learned local Hawaiian cuisine from his father. In 1999 as a Line cook at Alan Wongs King Street he learned french classical techniques from the master of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. From there he returned to Maui and held executive chef positions at Ruths Chris Steakhouse and Bistro Casanova. Now back at his Family Business Matthew is poised to take the restaurant and its cuisine into the future with his loving family. He is also a career firefighter at the Maui Fire Department where he helps to keep Maui's finest well fed!
